I put butter and oil into my coffee and we don't Tweet

Nov 7, 2012 | Schedulefly Crew
Earlier this year I read this blog post and decided to give the coffee recipe a whirl. I loved it the first time I tried it and I haven't looked back. I drink 2-3 cups of "bulletproof" coffee every morning. It's like a warm, tasty coffee milkshake (with no sugar!). Of course every time I tell somebody I blend unsalted butter and a derivative of coconut oil into my coffee they look at me like I'm crazy.

Recently I told somebody that Schedulefly doesn't use Twitter. At all. We don't tweet. We don't follow anybody. He looked at me the same way people look at me when I divulge my coffee concoction. I mean, we're a small, fast growing web-based business. How could we not use Twitter, right?

I'm not saying you should do what I do. Or what Schedulefly does. I want to make that clear. In fact, that's the whole point, isn't it? Just because I have had success with something doesn't mean I think you will. I don't know if you should put butter and MCT oil into your coffee. I don't know if you should use Twitter. In fact most of you probably should use it - it can be an incredible tool for your business!

All I'm suggesting is that sometimes it's the best thing for you or for you business to challenge the status quo, ignore the masses, and do things your own way. Even if people think you're a little crazy...

P.s. For what it's worth, I spent most of my life afraid of bucking convention. Yet when I finally learned to ignore my fears, I found unconventional - yet effective - paths to better health, increased business success, less stress, and more personal happiness.
